The first of several free concerts to be performed in Williamsburg by members of the U.S. Armys Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC) Band will be held on Tuesday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m. in the Williamsburg Library Theatre. The concert features the TRADOC Woodwind Quintet performing a range of classical, popular and patriotic pieces. Doors will open at 7 p.m. for this free performance. Tickets will not be distributed in advance. For more information visit www.wrl.org, or call (757) 259-4070.

The Woodwind Quintet is one of many small ensembles whose members are drawn from the musicians that make up The TRADOC Band. The quintet performs children's concerts, clinics for local school band programs, public relations concerts and participates in The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command Band's Winter Chamber Music Series. The group tours throughout the country actively recruiting civilian musicians who are interested in a career in music performance.

Future performances by TRADOC band members at the Williamsburg Library Theatre will include the TRADOC Recital Series on Friday, September 19 and again on Friday, November 21, and an OcTubaFest on Friday, October 10 featuring area tuba and euphonium players.
