Historic activist Tom Hayden will continue the caliber of past Activist Days at WCU speakers that include Daniel Berrigan, Philip Berrigan, Elizabeth McAlister, Torie Osborn, Alice Kessler-Harris, Mornay Pretorius, Alan Canfora and David Mixner. Tom Hayden will visit WCU to talk about his lifetime of activism. Tom was a leader of the student, civil rights and anti-war movements in the Sixties, and the environmental and anti-nuclear movements of the Seventies. He was an elected state Assembly and state Senator in California for twenty years. Tom's legislative record includes groundbreaking legislation on behalf of women, African-Americans and Latinos, Holocaust survivors and this generation's immigrants working in sweatshops. He is the recipient of multiple awards linked to his activist leadership on behalf of others and is the author of nine books.
