826NYC is proud to announce TINY SMOOSHY SUNDAY ON FIRE, an all-ages afternoon rock show featuring three of the country’s most acclaimed tween bands, SMOOSH, TINY MASTERS OF TODAY, and CARE BEARS ON FIRE, who will come together for the first time to raise money for 826NYC’s free writing programs for children, and hosted by actress MARTHA PLIMPTON.

Though the members of these bands may have yet to enter high school, don’t let their ages fool you—they can play. Smoosh, for one, has already toured worldwide with Pearl Jam, Death Cab for Cutie, and Eels, while The Tiny Masters of Today and Care Bears on Fire have had major profiles in the New York Times and Newsweek, as well as endorsements from the likes of David Bowie and Karen O. They've also gathered quite a following, made up of indie rock fans and middle schoolers alike. Acclaimed actress Martha Plimpton (Another Woman, Parenthood) was just nominated for a Tony Award for her role in The Coast of Utopia. The event promises to be a packed afternoon for both families and indie-rock fans.

The concert will benefit 826NYC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting students ages 6 to 18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
