July 19, 2 p.m. Flying Down to Rio (1933)
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers appeared together for the first time in this fanciful musical comedy. The plot concerns the romantic escapades of Delores Del Rio and efforts to save her fathers hotel in Rio de Janeiro. These efforts include staging a daffy musical revue with dancing girls strapped to the wings of airplanes in flight.
