June is library users request month for the Williamsburg Regional Library's Thursday Afternoon Film Series. The five movies being shown have been personally requested by library users. All films will be screened in the Williamsburg Library Theatre, 515 Scotland Street, beginning at 2 p.m. Admission is free and reservations are not required. June 22 Key Largo (1948, unrated)
A mobster on the lam (Edward G. Robinson) takes over a hotel in the Florida Keys during a hurricane. Among the hostages are a disillusioned vet (Humphrey Bogart) and his war buddys widow (Lauren Bacall). John Huston directed this tense thriller and Claire Trevor won an Oscar for her performance as an alcoholic gun moll.
