Thornbury Carnival July 3, 2010

This is a community-wide event, essentially charitable in its nature, organised by a committee acting on behalf of the Town, not by any particular club. In 2010 we have invited 1 Rifles, barracked at Beachley, just across the River Severn to exercise its "Freedom of the Town" on the day. Royal Marines Band (Portsmouth), provisionally booked.

2009 Carnival attracted 11,000 persons, with 1000+ in the Parade, led by the Band of the Light Cavalry (Lt.Col. Simon Ward has been my contact for bands - he will have a copy of the Carnival Report shortly), with 2 other Bands, and local Cadet & RBL involvement and a host of other, local, community groups.
