Feel free to call in to Wise Talk, a free monthly leadership forum
hosted by Mariposa Founder/CEO Sue Bethanis. On Wednesday, January
23rd from 4-5pm PST they will be discussing "Thinking Bigger: Applying the Politics of Possibility to Business."

Sue's guest this month is Michael Shellenberger. Michael is the
President of the Breakthrough Institute, a California based think tank
focused on the power of possibility in politics, policy, philosophy,
and the social sciences. Michael is the co-author of the highly
successful and controversial new book: Break Through: From the Death
of Environmentalism to the Politics of Possibility. Michael has
worked as a strategist on global warming, saving the world's last
redwoods, and improving working conditions for factory workers in
China. He currently is a national advocate for the U.S. to make a
10-year, $500 billion public-private investment into cutting-edge
clean energy technologies to achieve energy independence and restore
America's economic competitiveness. He received his B.A. from Earlham
College in Indiana, and his M.A. in cultural anthropology from the
University of California, Santa Cruz.

Sue and Michael will be discussing how we can redefine movements and
agendas (like environmentalism) by putting them into a much larger
context that is relevant and engaging. In general, how do we best
forego limited thinking and expand to a globalist mentality? How can
we remove our leadership blinders and begin creating sustainable
change in our businesses? Sue and Michael will also discuss the power
of possibility in clean energy alternatives and the implications this
(very) big agenda has for politics, economic development, and
corporate citizens.

This is the first of a series of Wise Talk conversations in 2008 that
brings to the Mariposa community thought leaders from outside the
realm of business. Michael brings new, vital thinking to the table
and you won't' want to miss this!

There is limited space available so please RSVP no later than January
17th to [email protected] in order reserve your spot.
they'll then send you the call in number and access pin.
