Called "a local cult favorite" by The New Yorker, "excellent" by the New York Times and "brilliant" by New York Magazine, genre -bending, -skipping and -skirting vocalist and composer Theo Bleckmann has been a steady and strong force in the New York music scene for over a decade. Bleckmann returns to the Pub for the release of his album Las Vegas Rhapsody: The Night They Invented Champagne (Winter & Winter) with brilliant composer/arranger/pianist Fumio Yasuda and the Basel Chamber Orchestra. Repertoire inspired by Steve and Eydie, Doris Day, Keeley Smith and Louis Prima, they will perform songs of the Vegas circuit from the newly released CD. Bleckmann and Yasuda have just returned from Europe and Japan to perform with a string quartet led by the incomparable Todd Reynolds, uniquely for Joe's Pub tonight.
