Auditions For A STREETCAR NAMED DESIRE

Wheaton Drama, Inc. (WDI), located at 111 N. Hale Street in downtown Wheaton, announces auditions for its upcoming production of Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize winning drama, "A Streetcar Named Desire".

The production will be directed by Charles A. Berglund with Jo-Ann Ledger as Assistant Director and Randall W. Knott as Production Manager.

Auditions will be February 1 and 2 at 7:00pm at Wheaton Drama’s Playhouse 111. Callbacks (if necessary) will be February 3 at 7:00pm.

Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script or prepared monologue (2 minute maximum) – actor choice –or both, if time permits. No roles have been pre-cast.

Tennessee Williams’ classic drama centers on the descent of Blanche du Bois as she struggles with a faded past and a cruel and harsh present.

Performances of "A Streetcar Named Desire" are April 3 through April 26 (no performance on Easter). Shows are Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm.

Remaining shows in Wheaton Drama’s 2008-2009 season are "Deathtrap" playing January 30 – February 22, and the season finale, "City of Angels", playing June 5 – June 28.
