Sex writing has gotten smarter, and online sex, arts and culture magazine Nerve.com now boasts some of the most literary young writers on its roster. Tonight’s event features four writers for Nerve who have also recently published hot new books of their own. Nick Antosca’s first novel Fires has been called “full of creeping menace and near-Apocalyptic lunacy… a blast to read” (Victor LaValle). Brooklyn-based author Tao Lin has two books, the novel Eeeee Eee Eeee and the short story collection Bed simultaneously published by Melville House, and has been described as “moving and necessary, not to mention frequently hilarious” (Miranda July). The L.A. Times calls Nelly Reifler’s short story collection See Through “Spring-loaded miniatures that flirt with the surreal edges of childhood and adolescence…You’re astonished at her daring, her craft and her flair for narrative mischief.” And Rachel Sherman’s The First Hurt is “both wonderfully, deeply weird and unsettligly familiar” (Judy Budnitz).
