Cambridge, MA- On July 20th, the annual Taste of Cambridge (TOC) will be held at MIT’s Technology Square, near Main and Albany streets. This charitable event offers Boston-area residents the chance to sample the diverse and delicious cuisine of Cambridge.

Fifty restaurants will set up around the pristine outdoor courtyard at MIT’s Technology Square from 5-7:30 Thursday, July 20th. People will enjoy generous samples of chef’s specialties, accompanied by ample wine and beer. The event tends to attract a crowd of about 1500 people, mostly 20-55 year olds, working in the MIT neighborhood and devout foodies from all over the city. This year will feature live music by the Primatones (www.primatones.com), a collective of musicians playing jazz and latin groove.
FOOD: Nearly 50 of Cambridge's finest restaurants are involved including: Upstairs on the Square, Chez Henri, Asgard, Craigie Street Bistro, Hong Kong, Finale, Conundrum, Cambridge Common, Sidney’s Grille, Jose’s Mexican, Om, Café of India, Sandrine’s Bistro, and many, many more!

BEER AND WINE: Multiple varieties of delicious wines and beers will be provided, courtesy of Cambridge Brewing Company, John Harvard’s Brew House, Cardullo’s, Mall Liquors.

The profits from TOC 2006 will be donated to Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) http://www.barcc.org/, Transition House http://www.transitionhouse.org/ and Cambridge Licensee Advisory Board www.clab.org.

Tickets are $40 in advance, $50 at the door, $75 VIP to get in early at 5pm. VIP admission also includes a gift bag and allows VIPS unlimited trips to each food vendor. Tickets will be available starting mid-June online at www.tasteofcambridge.com, at the MIT Box Office and at all three Whole Foods Market Cambridge locations.
