Although the band itself would likely bristle at the comparison, New York City's the Strokes might be thought of as America's belated response to Oasis: a classicist rock-and-roll band whose international success is as much a triumph of style and attitude as it is songs so perfectly formed, it doesn't matter that it sounds like you've heard them before.
