The Snake Trio workshop followed by performance May 6, 2006

Musicians and music lovers alike, please join us on May 6th at the Jazz School in Berkeley for a workshop on the exciting rhythms and sounds of Venezuelan music. The workshop will take place from 3:30 to 5:30 followed by a concert at 8pm by The Snake Trio.

This workshop is for anyone who wants to appreciate, understand and enjoy the music of Venezuela as it is interprerted by The Snake Trio. The members of the trio will demonstrate, using live examples, how different musical cultures such as Venezuelan Music and American Jazz can be blended without losing their respective roots
and flavors. Audience participation, including hands on instruments to show basic rhythmic techniques, will also be used.
