The Selfish Gene is an alternative rock trio from Madison, WI. The band plays its own brand of three-piece "transaccidental guitar rock a la Built to Spill, Modest Mouse and Pavement." The band was voted Best Overall Artist at the 2006 Madison Area Music Awards.
