Come see the Section Quartet, Haale and Milton next Friday night at Housing Works Bookstore!
The Section Quartet “Beats Thom Yorke over the head with cello case” (Pitchfork). Their new album FUZZBOX covers everything from Led Zeppelin’s Heartbreaker to Such Great Heights (The Postal Service), from Bowie to Queens of the Stone Age.
Flavorpill wrote of Haale in January “The surprise chestnut at the heart of the music is the dynamic, fiery delivery of Haale herself, whose voice is by turns deep and commanding, feather-light and breezy, and as rich and sensual as dark-chocolate fondue.” Since then she’s played as part of David Byrne’s Nonesuch Records-sponsored "One Note" series at Carnegie Hall, her band is now recording their debut full-length album, due out in February 2008.
It’s going to be a great show, and as always, all profit goes to Housing Works Inc.!
