The Scotland Yard Gospel Choir is a Chicago based band. Put away that thesaurus because John Henry and the Engine is a rock 'n' roll band; no adjectives required. Their music hearkens back to a simpler time, a time when there was no need for categorization or subgenre. It's music from the heart, borne of inspiration and confusion and struggle and trying to find one's place in the world. It draws on things heard and things dreamt, creating a sound that's simultaneously familiar and rejuvenating.
