The performances, on February 20-21 at 8:00 pm, through storytelling, drama, song, and dance, explore body politics and celebrate the humanity of Saartjie Baartman, a South African woman who in the 1800's was paraded around Europe in a cage as "The Hottentot Venus". Tickets are $10 and are available through www.thesaartjieproject.org. A portion of the proceeds benefit the Harriet Tubman Women's Shelter for homeless women in Washington, DC.
