At the Artisan-Market only original, functional and collectible art is sold by independent artists and designers from the greater New York area. 2012 ushers in the fifth season of the Artisan-Market located on the sidewalk perimeter of the park, starting at the intersection of DeKalb and Washington Park and extending down DeKalb Avenue. This laid back and pastoral gem in an urban setting is enhanced on select Saturdays by free musical performances. Fort Greene's year-round Greenmarket also starts at this popular corner park entrance location proceeding down the Washington Park sidewalk perimeter of Fort Greene Park. Included are year-round textile recycling and compost drop off locations ever greening the Ft. Greene neighborhood of Downtown Brooklyn.
