The Reef at the New England Aquarium Opens May 28th May 28, 2011

Summer returns May 28 with the opening of The Reef at the New England Aquarium. This outdoor hotspot features delicious food, cool drinks and a one of a kind outdoor atmosphere along Boston’s waterfront.

The Reef kicks off the season with PD Rogers performing at 3 p.m.

Enjoy live music Thursdays and Saturdays all summer long while sipping cocktails, watching the game or enjoying the Harbor views. Coming in July, The Reef will hold Wednesday Lobster Bakes, a buffet of lobster, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and more. Stump! Trivia games will be held every Friday night.

The Reef features a menu of salads, flatbreads pizzas, and sliders. Specialty drinks include the live blueTM frozen margarita garnished with a Gummi shark. Keeping in line with the Aquarium’s conservation and eco-friendly mission, The Reef uses biodegradable and compostable plates, cups, napkins, and utensils made from cornstarch, potato starch, corn fiber and recycled paper.
Located on the New England Aquarium plaza, just off Atlantic Avenue, The Reef is within easy walking distance from anywhere in downtown Boston. The Reef offers diners family-friendly fare and fabulous views of historic Boston Harbor. After 4 p.m., it transforms into one of the city’s coolest spots on hot summer nights. Complete with XM radio and flat screen televisions, social hipsters and sports fans alike can enjoy what’s best about Boston summers – suds, the Sox, salty air, and snacks.
