Dealing with Unique Stakeholder Issues and Localising National Frameworks to Ensure Regional Implementation Success

The geography and demography of Australia mean that the needs of local communities often vary greatly. For government agencies, this presents a range of challenges to ensure that service provision is equitable and resources are being utilised in the most effective manner. Across Australia at both state and federal level, Regional Managers play a crucial role in both the delivery of government services and the provision of accurate and constructive information to be fed into the policy making process.
The Public Sector Regional Managers’ Local Implementation Forum 2012 will provide a well balanced agenda with perspectives from state and federal agencies at both regional and central level and will provide the opportunity to better understand the drivers underpinning successful service delivery locally while operating within their agencies’ parameters. Practical case studies provide an insight into Regional Managers at state and federal level engaging local communities innovatively, improved working relationships, providing enhanced service delivery to their regions, and also providing feedback and influencing up the chain to central policy areas.
