Produced by Terry Gilliam, The Piano Tuner of Earthquakes is the breathtakingly beautiful and long-awaited second feature from acclaimed British animators, the Brothers Quay. On the eve of her wedding, the beautiful opera singer Malvina is abducted by a malevolent Dr. Droz. An innocent piano tuner, Felisberto, is summoned to Droz’s secluded villa to service his strange musical automatons. Little by little Felisberto struggles to learn of Malvina’s mysterious fate and secretly conspires to rescue her from the web of Droz’s perverse universe. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the Brothers Quay moderated by Chief Curator David Schwartz. Tickets are $22 public/$16 for Museum members.
