595 Market St, 2nd floor
San Francisco, California 94105

Come hear the dynamic, yet selfless, Janice Mirikitani, San Francisco’s 2nd Poet Laureate, speak about recovery of her life from a childhood history of incest, abuse, violence and internment of her family in WWII concentration camps. As Co-Founder/Founding President of Glide Foundation programs and Celebrations, she has worked for 43 years in personal and professional partnership with the Rev. Cecil Williams.

During the program, Ms. Mirikitani will share her journey to recover her own voice and to create programs where other women, men, and young people have recovered theirs. She primarily does this via the Glide Foundation, within which she continues to develop creative community building and legacy programs.

A networking reception will be held at 5:30 p.m.
