An empty calendar and the lure of free intoxicants are probably reason enough to get people down to the Rickshaw on Wednesday, but the 34th meeting of The Onion Society For Beer Enjoyment has an added bonus: a screening of selected films from Wholphin, the quarterly DVD magazine of unseen things produced by McSweeney's.

The hour-long line-up at the Rickshaw includes Dennis Hopper's legendary performance art piece involving 23 sticks of dynamite and a match, Bob Odenkirk's very successful attemp to make TV he could "watch without cringing" (The Pity Card), a blasphemous portrait of God that you will go to Hell for watching (Tactical Advantage), unforgettable scenes of afterschool Dada (Funky Forest), and more.

We hope you can join us! As always, The Onion is buying the beer.
