We will look at various aspects of photography (creative, technical, business and the future) and include workflow highlights on digital asset management and colour management and a report from this week's PhotoPlus Expo in New York. The featured guests are artist-photographer Yuri Dojc (http://yuridojc.com, http://www.apple.com/ca/hotnews/success/yuridojc/index.html) and interactive pioneer and designer Kevin Steele (http://kevinsteele.com/home_index.html, http://www.smackerel.net/).

Event Description
? Join mediamaker and host Geo Perdis and new media pioneer Kevin Steele for a fun, informative and entertaining session on how digital technologies and the internet are changing the world of photography and imaging and how Apple technologies are a major force driving this change. Featuring special guest artist-photographer Yuri Dojc, his work, tools of the trade and digital workflow.

3 Part Presentation/Seminar
? On The Screen: The Art & Craft of PhotoImaging
? Behind The screen: The Tools & Technology of PhotoImaging
? Beyond The Screen: The Business and Future of PhotoImaging

? These three segments in the two-hour presentation will run about 40 minutes each, with the guests speaking or demoing for about 25-30 minutes, a 10 minute Q&A and a 5 minute break between sessions.

Presenter Biographies

Yuri Dojc, artist-photographer, yuridojc.com
? Yuri Dojc is a major player on the international photographic stage. Yuri?s clients are distinguished ad agencies and designers throughout North America. He is celebrated for his bold, dramatic commercial work, his whimsical fine art series and his sensitive black and white personal studies. When L?espresso, an Italian magazine, decided to create a series of books called Eros e Fotografia, they selected Yuri as one of the artists along with Robert Mapplethorpe, David Lachapelle, Man Ray, and Bill Brandt.
? Yuri is a popular juror and speaker at international photographic events. His fine art posters and prints grace the walls of private collectors and galleries around the world including a collection at the Canadian Contemporary Museum of Photography in Ottawa.

Kevin Steele, interactive designer and new media pioneer, kevinsteele.com
? Kevin Steele lives Toronto, and grew up mostly in Saskatoon. He uses his brain, eyes, hands, and often computers and/or cameras, to make things. He has worked as a (new) media designer & creative director since graduating from the Photo/Electric Arts program at OCA in 1986. Kevin is an interactive media pioneer who co-founded internationally-acclaimed Mackerel, one of Toronto?s first multimedia studios.

? Geo Perdis is a Toronto-based mediamaker, educator and strategist who has been actively involved in new media and electronic-digital photoimaging for more than 20 years. He is the editor of mediaworks.ca, a website about the world of new and merging media, culture, business and technology.
