The Nature Team: How Cities Affect Rivers July 30, 2009

Join Museum staff and Dr. Bob Heath, a Great Lakes ecosystem ecologist who has conducted research and education programs for more than 30 years, on an urban nature hike to the Flats, where we will look at the ecology of the Cuyahoga River. We will explore the effects, both positive and negative, that humans have had on the river, as well as some of steps that are being taken to repair previous damage. We will observe nature in the industrial heart of the city and try to debunk some of the myths about the "burning river."
