Sainsbury Wing Theatre Deaf Awareness Week Special Event - Seen through Deaf Eyes: Avercamp, Goya and Reynolds. An event highlighting the life and work of deaf and hearing-impaired artists in the National Gallery Collection. Three short talks by Serena Cant, Jennifer Little and James Heard will be given in either BSL or spoken English, with written talk notes provided.

The National Gallery is the nation’s collection of Western European painting from about 1250. Famous masterpieces from Leonardo da Vinci to Van Gogh are on display every day, free of charge. Throughout the year, free talks are given in BSL by deaf lecturers, or in spoken English with BSL interpretation. Talks highlight different paintings in the Collection and special exhibitions, inviting you to respond through discussion and practical workshops. BSL DISCUSSION GROUP: After most events, the speaker will join BSL users for an informal discussion group – a chance to ask questions and share ideas. All talks and discussions are free, unless otherwise stated. JOIN THE MAILING LIST: To receive regular information about BSL events please email [email protected]
