The Music Group of Philadelphia Holiday Concert November 30, 2007

The Music Group of Philadelphia celebrates the holiday season with 20th century masterworks for chorus.

— Fantasia on Christmas Carols by Ralph Vaughan Williams puts traditional English carols in imaginative settings for baritone, organ, and chorus.

— To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the death of Zoltán Kodály, the chorus presents three wordless pieces a cappella from his Tricinia songbook, and audience favorite Esti Dal.

— Four Motets for Christmastime by Francis Poulenc present traditional Latin texts of the Christmas story in beautiful and intriguing
settings.

The concert will conclude with traditional carols with audience participation.

After the concert join the chorus and musicians for a festive reception.
Tickets available in advance from members of The Music Group ($15) or at the door ($20).
$15 for seniors.
Free admission for students with valid ID.
