The Mountain Goats, led by singer-songwriter John Darnielle, was established in 1991 and quickly became known for its unique, novelistic, and exceedingly smart lyrics. Peter Hughes joined John in 1995 and they have continued to produce an eclectic variety of music, touring extensively on the way. They come to the MFA for a performance of their razor sharp and brilliantly descriptive music.
