Paul Labovitz is the superintendent of the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area, established by Congress in 1988 as a 72-mile stretch of Mississippi River from Ramsey and Dayton in the north to just south of Hastings. This event is sponsored by the Institute for Advanced Study, the College of Design, the Institute on the Environment, Urban Studies Program, the Water Resources Center and the Metropolitan Studies Consortium as part of the series Telling River Stories: The I-35W Bridge, the Mississippi River, and Rebuilding Community Connections.
