Nyman is one of Britain’s most innovative composers. His works encompass opera and string quartets, film soundtracks and orchestral concertos.

Far more than merely a composer, he's also a performer, conductor, bandleader, pianist, author, musicologist, photographer and film-maker.

Among his many achievements is his beautiful score written for Jane Campion’s film The Piano as well as a commission for Liverpool’s European Capital of Culture year. His restless creativity and multi-faceted art has made him one of the most fascinating and influential cultural icons of our times. In this show The Michael Nyman Band brings you a special evening featuring some of his most critically acclaimed and loved works.

This concert is Nyman’s first appearance at Liverpool Philharmonic Hall since 2005 and offers a rare chance to see the master in action.
