The folks of Burning Man presented The New York City Decom(pression) held this past weekend (Nov. 3 - 4) at the Queens Museum of Art. The people rocked. The venue was great. The pARTicipation was first rate and the vibes were often beyond words. So, why won't I go back there? It seems the security people were not informed that the selected (vetted) guests were neither from fight clubs nor night clubs. The staff interactions were frequently and needlessly confrontational, bothersome and stoopid , e.g.: "Hey, you gotta clear this space" (The jam packed main indoor dance floor, beyond the stairs.) One of those present had the questionable taste to be dressed in "Brown Shirt" regalia. Though it turned out to be a guest, it was befitting of the security staff. I should add that as an official greeter, I shared hundreds of great hugs and smiles and never felt the need to challenge anyone. Why did they?
