THE LIDA PROJECT PRESENTS RUR/lol

“R.U.R./lol,” an original work based on a 1920 Czech science-fiction play called” Rossum’s Universal Robots,” which introduced the word “robot” into the lexicon.

The LIDA Project presents "RUR/lol" directed by Lorenzo Sariñana previewing Thursday, February 14; opening Friday, February 15 and running through March 2. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays and Thursday, February 21 at 8 p.m.

At the end of humanity four robots remain. Through their controllers they work to protect what remains of the planet from a catastrophic event. The process leads them to question how we came to this end.

Part play, part rock show, this production includes five technical performers running 13 video projectors in real time.

Ensemble: Rhea Amos, Hart DeRose, Laura Lounge, Heidi Pachner, Technical Performers: Lorenzo Sariñana, Dustin Lacy, David Lafont, Kenrick Fischer, Brian Freeland
