The Legendary Coney Island Cyclone Celebrates Its 85th Birthday at Luna Park
New Yorkers and Tourists Alike Come Together for Live Music, Fireworks on the Beach, and 25¢ Rides on the Cyclone

What: Considered the father of America’s rollercoaster revolution, the Cyclone is celebrating its 85th birthday. To kick off the celebration, Luna Park will pay homage to the Cyclone’s 1927 debut by offering guests the chance to ride the coaster for 25 cents (the same price it was 85 years ago) for the first 85 minutes of the event. In true Coney Island fashion, the Cyclone’s Birthday Party will be a fun-filled day of music, food and contests. DJ’s and bands will entertain the crowds throughout the day leading up to a fireworks display on the beach.
