General George Gordon Meade, David Rittenhouse, Henry Deringer, Peter Widener -- the list of names goes on. But what about the ladies of Laurel Hill? What about the women buried here? This program is all about them, from the more familiar, such as Sarah Josepha Hale and Elizabeth Hutter to the less well-known, but equally important, like the writer, Lucy Hamilton Hooper; the archaeologist, Sarah Yorke Stevenson; and Mary Engle Pennington, whose work made it possible to transport fresh milk -- and later, beer -- nationwide.
