Summary of the play-
Henry IV
The Apprenticeship of Good Prince Hal
Directed by John Slade

This production is called Henry IV, but it’s really a play about Henry’s prodigal son Hal, a rebellious lad who stays out late and doesn’t get on well with his royal dad. Prince Hal has adopted a surrogate father, a magnificently corpulent barfly and force of nature named Jack Falstaff, to teach him the sensual joys of fine wine, women, and the adolescent art of avoiding one’s destiny. Director John Slade’s adaptation combines both parts of Henry IV into one seamless and satisfying play containing some of the warmest – and funniest – scenes in all Shakespeare.
