The Internet Society is hosting the first of its series of Internet ON (ION) events, each designed to address Internet issues that keep network engineers and architects awake at night.

The inaugural ION event, which will be held at The Ritz Carlton in San Francisco on December 8-9th, will provide network, product and service engineers and architects a unique opportunity to meet and learn from leading technologists. This will offer engineers a forum to discuss Internet standards and best practices with those who have created them and have been at the leading edge of deployment, and will also enable engineers to stay abreast of emerging technologies, including IPv6, DNSSEC, real-time and peer-to-peer applications and TRILL.

“ION 2010 is a must-attend event for technologists who will be involved in implementing these technologies”, said Leslie Daigle, Chief Internet Technology Officer at the Internet Society.

Speakers include representatives from a “who’s who” of Internet technology organizations including: Keynote Speaker, Eric Klinker, CEO of Bittorrent; Dr. Eric Burger, Chairman of the SIP Forum and faculty member at Georgetown University; Ralph Droms, a Cisco Distinguished Engineer in Research and Advanced Development at Cisco Systems; John Brzozowski and Chris Griffiths from Comcast; Richard Jimmerson from ARIN; Andy Davidson, Technical Director at Netsumo; and others.
