Brothers Sherman and Wendell Holmes and drummer Popsy Dixon make up this powerful trio, which combines gutbucket blues, red-clay soul and ecstatic gospel with hints of country, funk and rock to create an amalgam that is timeless and original. Talented beyond her years, Shemekia Copeland is a blues vocalist of extreme passion. Daughter of the late Johnny Clyde Copeland, she infuses her singing with the Texas blues influence of her father along with influences of her own upbringing in Harlem.
