The Guido Alder Jazz Piano Scholarship Competition October 7, 2006

Come hear the next wave of great jazz musicians at the Guido Alder Jazz Piano Competition on Saturday October 7! For the past several months, there has been a statewide search to find the best high school jazz pianist. Pianists from around the state have submitted audition CDs, and the top 5 pianists have been selected to compete in the final competition to be held from 2-5pm at the Lyman Saville Theater in San Diego City College (C Street, between 14th and 15th). Celebrity judges include renowned jazz musicians Jessica Williams, Kamau Kenyatta, and Daniel Jackson, and 10News’ Marti Emerald will be the Master of Ceremonies. There is no charge for the public, but pay the $25 ($20 for KSDS/Jazz88 members) for tickets to stay after the show to see the winner play a 30 minute set at 8:00pm to introduce the headlining concert by Jessica Williams!
