The Giant Pumpkin Regatta & Festival October 10, 2010

This event is hosted annually by LLL and the Lake Champlain Regional Chamber of Commerce to help raise funds for their youth leadership program, PILOT.

So what happens? Different teams of people (pumpkin sponsors, local celebrities, media personalities, PILOT students, etc.) race in giant hollowed out pumpkins (1,000lbs. +) on Lake Champlain. There is also a fun-filled family festival that includes local food vendors providing yummy fall treats, craft vendors, kids' activities, pie eating contests, and a fall inspired pet costume contest!

2010 Schedule of Events:

* 10 am: Festival Begins!...... Join us for pumpkin decorating & painting, pumpkin carving demos, fun kids’ activities, bounce castles, face painting, yummy fall food and craft vendors, and MORE!
* 11:30 am & 1 pm: Pie Eating Contests.....Register by 11:00 and 12:30 at the information table.
* 12 pm: First Pumpkin Regatta Race..... Races will continue into the afternoon until we have our official winner!
* 1:30pm: Dancing by Studio 3 Dance & Fitness
* 2 pm: Pet Costume Contest....... Register your pet at the information table by 1:30 pm. Prizes awarded to one finalist from each category based on judges’ choice.
* 2:30pm: Dancing by Studio 3 Dance & Fitness
* Pumpkin Regatta Awards Ceremony will commence after the final pumpkin sponsors race!
