The Family Portrait Gallery: the Cushing of Little Harbor August 24, 2010

From 1816 to 1886 the Benning Wentworth House at Little Harbor belonged to the Cushing family who filled the rooms with portraits and possessions of their many Portsmouth relatives. This exhibit evokes an era when appreciation of ancestral houses was beginning to inspire historical tourism.
