40 local musicians “Come together” to commemorate the 40th anniversary of “Abbey Road”

Highlighting a fall season of terrific live music at Discovery Green, The Fab 40 returns to pay tribute to the original Fab 4 with a free, live performance of “Abbey Road” on Saturday, September 12. Members of this group of 40 local musicians – handpicked by Beatles enthusiasts David Blassingame and Steve Candelari – performed the Beatles’ albums “Sgt. Pepper” and the “White Album” previously. Each show takes months to perfect and features the exotic instruments and sound effects that the Beatles used. Sugar Hill Studios and Black Dog Records are collaborating with the Fab 40.

The Fab 40’s April 2008 performance of “Sgt. Pepper” drew an impressive crowd of over 4,000 people only two weeks after the Discovery Green’s official opening. For the “Abbey Road” performance, the public is encouraged to bring a non-perishable food donation for the Houston Food Bank, and of course their lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy the show on the hill.
