Empty Bowl Luncheons are held by Food Banks across the country. Designed to raise awareness about the problem of hunger in our nation and as well as in our local communities.

The lunch is a drop in affair 11:30 - 1:30. Tickets on sale now are $15 and include soup, a sandwich and a hand-crafted bowl courtesy of Rob Sutherland's Good Dirt Studio & Gallery - Athens. Luncheon attendees that purchase tickets or donate $15 to the event will have their soup served in the bowl which will serve as a memento of the event. Not only will this help us keep the event a little 'greener' by eliminating the need for plastic bowls, it will serve as our pledge to help fight hunger in Northeast Georgia.
This year, 12 local artists have created showpiece bowls and donated them for our Empty Bowl Silent Auction. Guests will be able to bid on the pieces during the drop in lunch. The Silent Auction will end at 1:00 pm Area restaurants will feature these uniquely created bowls in their establishments from February 20th through March 17th to help promote the Empty Bowl Luncheon and create awareness of the local fight against hunger.
