Leading intellectuals debate the proposition "America is failing at the pursuit of happiness."

The Economist Debates will each feature two teams arguing for and against a proposition. Each debate will feature two speakers per team. Team members will each have 10 minutes to make an opening statement. The affirmative side initiates the debate. The remaining three speakers expand on the topic and also challenge the opposing side's arguments in a moderated discussion. Editors from The Economist will moderate both debates, and audience members will deliver their verdict on the issue by vote in favor of either side at the end of the program.

Does anyone know what the appropriate attire is for this event? Is it a jacket and tie situation?
