The ebay art project and the Mona Lisa postcard project August 23, 2005

In this innovative exhibition, curator Michael Rosenthal explores the 21st century phenomenon of the online auction. After purchasing 36 pieces of unsigned and unidentified artwork on eBay for $1 each, Rosenthal invited a group of established artists to transform these anonymous objects in any way they saw fit. Ultimately, this exhibition highlights the creative process and explores the ways we place value on artistic objects.
