Works by Lully, Colasse, Constantin, Philidor, and anonymous composers

Juilliard Historical Performance faculty oboist Gonzalo Ruiz leads instrumentalists from Juilliard415 in a program of French suites that emulates the famous double reed ensembles of Versailles during the reign of Louis XIV. This program presents a full complement of oboes, bassoons, and percussion performing wide-ranging selections from the Philidor collection--an anthology of theater, military, ceremonial, and dance music spanning from the 1500s to the turn of the 18th century
