Introduction to Fusing & Slumping
This class is a great way to enter the world of art glass. The techniques of fusing and slumping offer almost limitless possibilities for creating with color and form. You’ll learn the basics of glass/heat interaction, glass cutting, fusing (combining colors), and slumping (shaping glass into or over molds to create flat and dimensional forms). The class will cover mold materials as well as firing and annealing procedures.

Kiln-Cast Glass

Create colorful glass sculptures using the ancient art of lost wax casting. You will learn wax-working techniques, various moldmaking procedures, the kiln-firing process, and casting using different types of molds. You will be able to complete four to five finished projects. Come prepared with drawings and ideas for projects. __Entry-Level Class__

Continuing Techniques in Kiln-Fired Glass

Can’t get enough fusing and slumping? This class offers more advanced techniques and projects using the skills learned in Kiln-Fired Glass —Fusing & Slumping. The focus will be on new ways to manipulate glass using hot and cold methods. Combing, dropout slumping, pulling canes and pattern bars in the glory hole, as well as sawing, drilling, and cold-worked finishing will be covered. __Previous experience required.
