The Church, Science, and Galileo October 6, 2008

Host: The John Locke Foundation. Dr. John Hubisz, Adjunct Professor of Physics, North Carolina State University, will be our special guest in a meeting of the Shaftesbury Society.

One cannot understand the “Galileo Affair” without understanding the tenor and the history of the times. Perhaps, as a surprise to many of you, what you believe about the affair and the times will be shown to be wrong.

Dr. John Hubisz has taught physics and other courses for over 50 years. He holds a Ph.D. in physics and space science and a degree in Theology. He currently serves as an Adjunct Professor of Physics at North Carolina State University.

In 1975 he was ordained for work in the Catholic Church after three and a half years in the seminary. He is currently assigned to St. Mary Magdalene Church in Apex.
