With 25% of the world's population speaking English, the globalization of markets, the maturing of e-business practices, shrinking budgets, outsourcing of manufacturing and now knowledge work, the HR professional is still faced with the challenge of optimizing management, employees' and organization effectiveness. We will examine the pressures and opportunities for HR in balancing and managing the competing demands of technology, communications, cross-boundary cooperation while improving performance.

Speakers:
Candy Mirrer has over 20 years experience in 23 countries in Europe, Asia, Latin America and the Middle East, where her clients have included Fortune 500, global multinationals, financial institutions and startups. Her understanding of strategy, operations, and systems has facilitated business growth in domestic and international markets. She has addressed global HR, organizational effectiveness, and change management issues associated with geographic expansion, technology, mergers and acquisitions, and deregulation.

Michael L. Kent is an Executive Consultant, Vice President and Chief Human Resources Offices of Jeitosa Group International. Mike divides his time between strategy consulting and heading Jeitosas's internal HR function. He brings his long experience as an HR practitioner, with broad and deep experience in every function of HR and administration to assist clients with their strategic challenges in areas including change management, talent management, business ethics, global diversity, mergers and acquisitions and service delivery.
