“The Causes and Consequences of Coral Decline”
Dr. Josh Idjadi, Postdoctoral Research Scientist, New England Aquarium
Dr. Idjadi will discuss the role of corals in providing habitat for reef-dwelling organisms and the causes of the decline of these beautiful and vital underwater structures. Dr. Idjadi’s underwater research sites have included Jamaica, Australia, and Moorea in French Polynesia.
The New England Aquarium will host a series of educational lectures and films delivered by well respected colleagues, scientists, professors and biologists from various aquatic fields. Topics of discussion will include coral reef extinction, ecosystems, marine mammal life and more. The New England Aquarium is a global leader in ocean exploration and marine conservation. The Aquarium Lecture Series is presented free to the public through the generosity of the Lowell Institute. Programs will begin at 7 p.m. in the Harborside Learning Lab, located at the New England Aquarium, Central Wharf, Boston, unless otherwise noted.
