Inspired by Jane Alexander: Surveys (from the Cape of Good Hope), an upcoming exhibition of tableaux, sculptures, and photomontages by South African artist Jane Alexander, the Cathedral of St. John the Divine presents a series of interactive children’s art workshops starting Saturday, April 27th at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, 1047 Amsterdam Avenue (at 112th Street), Manhattan.

The workshops are centered upon Alexander’s human-animal hybrid sculptures and her dramatic installations, which speak of lasting disfigurations in her native South Africa, yet raise issues about human nature that resonate with viewers internationally.

These programs are recommended for ages 4 and up and are $8 per child, per program, with accompanying adult. Reservations can be made by calling (212) 932-7347. For more information, please visit https://www.stjohndivine.org.
